RUGBY DEVELOPMENT IN AZERBAIJAN THE 2010 JUNIOR SERIES (2nd ROUND)
The second round of Junior Series took place on the 14th of February at the Lok-Batan stadium. Weather was not favorable for our U9 kids and decision was made for Peleng not to play under this category. Regardless of our decision not to involve our young players TISA decided to play the full age range from U7 to U13.

The 2009 was very successful for the Rugby Development in Azerbaijan. Regardless of the financial downturn allover the world the Azerbaijan Rugby Development Team consisting of Vagif Sadatkhan (Juniors Coach), Aleksey Borovskih (Azerbaijan Rugby Development Manager) and Emil Aliyev (Azerbaijan Rugby Press Attaché) managed to secure funds for the steady rugby development throughout 2009. The 2009 was full of exiting events for the 3 kids’ rugby clubs whose majority is formed by the kids from orphanage schools No1, No2 and No3 located in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
Long term rugby development strategy in Azerbaijan
Aleksey BOROVSKIH The objective of the rugby development strategy is to align the sport of rugby in Azerbaijan to produce more skilful players, and expand the game supported by quality coaches, officials and volunteers at all levels of the game in Azerbaijan. It is directed at achieving optimal training, performance, competition, and recovery throughout the career of a player.
